The Ladies Section is a friendly and welcoming group, meeting mainly on Tuesdays, to play
our medal competitions. Thursday morning’s are another popular day for Ladies to meet and
play either 9 holes or 18 holes of golf, often arranging a competition amongst themselves,
with a pot of tea at stake! We are the last of the big spenders!!
We have a number of Mixed Friendly Matches which allows us to play both at home and
away usually finishing with a good wholesome dinner and lots of jolly "banter". In addition
to the golfing side of the club, there are various Social Events arranged throughout the year
which are very well supported by Ladies and Gentlemen alike. Functions range from the
formal Spring Ball with posh frocks and black ties, to the very patriotic (almost fancy dress)
associated with St George’s Day in April each year.
We would be delighted to welcome new Junior Girls to our club. The structure of the Junior
Fees has recently been reviewed and ages 8-12 year olds can join and play for as little as
£75.00 per year, with 13-16 year olds paying £150.00 per year.
The Junior Section also arrange free of charge group tuition sessions mainly on a Saturday
mornings, but also during most school holiday periods. These sessions are managed by our
Professional, Richard Dance, a seasoned professional with plenty of enthusiasm and skills to
teach the golf swing properly. The club is also currently working on a scheme to make local
schools aware of the taster and training sessions available, in an attempt to encouraging
youngsters to take up the sport.
There is more information relating to the Junior Section on the Juniors page, as well as a
profile of the Junior Organiser, Matt Salt.
Why not come and join us, we have a great course, and a great clubhouse with a lovely
friendly atmosphere.
